Today GOd told me to GO.
Denny's was offering free Grandslam's till 2:00PM.
As we approached the outside the building there were crowds of people trying to get inside for a free breakfast. I told Paula that there were a lot of people in line. As we pulled up and waited for a parking spot, a vehicle pulled away from the building just as we arrived. The spot seemed perfect so we proceeded to pull in. When we got inside the building the numbers were great and Paula moved ahead to put our names on the list. As we waited in line, God spoke to me, THOSE WHO WAIT WILL BE FED. So I leaned over towards Paula and shared what God had told me.
As I continued to wait, I became conscious of all the poor people. "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven." "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled." "Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy."
Are we as hungry for Jesus as we are for a free Grandslam breakfast? Not are we hungry for what Jesus can do for us, rather are we hungry for every Word that proceeds from His mouth?
As many were patiently waiting for their names to get called; are we as anxious to hear the calling by God to GO? As Jesus replied, when asked, "are you going to eat?!" 'I have a meal that you know nothing about.' His meal was hearing and doing what God had set in front of HIM.
Jesus knew the importance of believing in God..., God would provide for His hunger pains. He also knew the importance of trusting in God rather than satisfying a emotional lust. And if God wants us to hold off on eating, we need to trust in HIM.
MAN DOES NOT LIVE ON BREAD ALONE
BUT FROM EVERY WORD THAT PROCEEDS
FROM THE MOUTH OF GOD
showing up late, ladies second, eating without the family?... surely God wouldn't have me do that? THAT'S DOWN RIGHT RUDE! Rude to the world maybe, but Jesus never considered nor catered to the worlds wicked ways. Actually He made a point in doing things exactly opposite to the confinement of the world. If you're going to be a true disciple of Jesus Christ, He will make you standout in a crowd... walking on dry land was a task that the disciple realized first hand that they were going to need a little extra help...!
not setting your alarm, drinking only lemon water for eight days, what's the point to all this madness? Lets ask the prophets of old: sleeping on your side for the sins of Israel, cooking a meal with cow dung, not going out side for days? This seems extravagant!!
not brushing your teeth, skipping meals, shoveling the end of your parents driveway just wide enough for one vehicle to pass through... what is the meaning behind all this?
Many were willing to wait over an hour for free food that will perish. Are we as willing to wait for free food to come down from God? Those who are truly hungry will get fed... or are you more concerned with your own agenda. 'Aw, it's over a mile away' or 'I refuse to wait in line' Very few of us today know what it means to remain loyal to a person, mainly that person being our Saviour, our Lord Amen. We don't even bat an eye when it comes to showing up late for church or a sporting event. But when it comes down to showing up on time for GOd, we say, 'He's gracious enough to let it slide.' Total disrespect and we are totally unaware of it.
Are you willing to show up late for a banquet if God announces it. Are we willing to miss a sermon from our favorite pastor, if God wills it? These are moving questions... we must get tuned in to hearing the Voice of God! Even as Jesus lived His life, are we going to get it? There are many today that are trying to live legalistic, moralistic lifestyles, yet are missing the boat.
We show up on time to every church service, never miss a meal, respect our elders, yet totally disrespect our Lord and Saviour Jesus THE CHRIST.
We must surrender... and this takes time. Not time to come, but time as in NOW. The offer has a time frame... as many missed the cut off time for their free Grandslam, don't miss the cut off for Him Amen
We need to start taking orders and never stop!
We need to start pleasing our King!
Amen
